I had a realization recently. I have friends I've known for over ten years that have said to me, "I didn't know you sing", or "I didn't know you were such a good crocheter, or "I didn't know you had a business."
I thought it was interesting because my assumption about social media (some of us being together since the Myspace days) is that we all see clearly what we are all doing from Youtube channels, to Instagram, to Facebook. But that is not always the case. I understand that we are not always looking. And honestly, we have our own lives to attend to, but on my part I thought I would make an extra effort to make sure you are all aware of how I am progressing in life, especially with my business and education, because soon I will need your support to help me get to the next level!
First and foremost, I want to thank all my fellow classmates, friends, and family for their friendship and support they have given me this past Spring semester. It was busy and tough, but I am happy to say that I have come out with a perfect 4.0! I am also the recipient of the Ralph and Jean Jenkins Memorial Scholarship for Music and I look forward to receiving many more. I thought now would be a good time to update everyone on all that I have done and where I am going next.
At the top of the semester I was not only hired by El Camino College as a PASS Mentor and tutor for the PASS Program, I was taking six courses on top of working at Guess, practicing a new instrument, the piano, and performing weekly at the House of Blues with Firm Soundation in Anaheim and San Diego. One course was a five week fashion course offered at VEDC's Women’s Business Center. The next eight week Entrepreneurial Training Course began immediately after, both located in the valley. I have received certificates for both courses and will receive a third certificate for the Tutoring and Mentoring Course also taken during the first eight weeks of the Spring semester at El Camino College. So you can imagine how busy things were in the first half of the semester. What came out of the training course was an amazing new business model and exciting next steps! This is where you come in, but not just yet! More later.
The Spring semester ended with three less classes, greater direction for the Fall semester, and well, I came out a fairly decent piano player. So for this summer, I am taking one online course, History of Rock, which makes my time more flexible for getting down to Raghouse International business!
At the close of May my venture at Guess Inc. was over. It was an amazing two and a half years and I was glad to lend my crocheting skills to the community there. It was a fashion dream that can now be checked off my list. Check!
Now I am in a position to step into the next level of building my business and continuing my education. Raghouse International is now in the capital building stage and I look forward to all of your support. Stay tuned.
Raghouse International
